Whisk & Wonder is an interactive cooking game for kids aged 4–8 that teaches children how to follow a recipe step by step and choose the right tool or machine for each kitchen job. A friendly chef called Pomo reads every step aloud, so children can play without reading.
In the recipe book, children pick a dish, see the ingredients they need, then cook it one step at a time. They drag food into bowls and pans, swipe a knife to chop, stir in circles with a whisk to make batter, and tap the hob, oven or toaster to cook. If they pause, a pointing hand shows what to do next.
There is also an open kitchen with more than 60 ingredients, where children can invent their own meals. They see how heat changes food as eggs fry, bread toasts brown and fruit blends into a smoothie.
Start with a short recipe that uses pictures, and do one step at a time. Read each step aloud, gather the ingredients before you begin, and ask your child what comes next. Simple dishes like toast, fruit salad or a smoothie are good first recipes.
A whisk mixes ingredients together quickly and beats air into them. It is used to turn flour, eggs and milk into a smooth batter for pancakes, and to beat eggs for an omelette or scrambled eggs.
Children can start helping from about age 3 with jobs like washing vegetables, stirring and mashing. Around ages 6 to 8, many can measure ingredients, crack eggs and use a child-safe knife with an adult watching. Hot ovens and hobs always need a grown-up.
The game is designed for children aged 4 to 8. Every instruction is spoken aloud and shown with pictures, so children who are not yet reading can play, while older children can work through the harder three-hat recipes on their own.
Children can cook 13 dishes, including pancakes, pizza, egg fried rice, guacamole, hummus and veggie curry. Each recipe takes two to four minutes, so playing them all takes about 40 minutes, plus as long as they like in the open kitchen.
